Streaming!

Thanks to UStream you can now watch us be lazy on our laptops and watch TV. The life of a college student... woot!

If you want us to do anything crazy, leave a post below! (i wont get naked unless you donate money!)

Online Dating

After seeing all the commercials on TV for Match.com and other sites, it seems like a lot of people actually use these sites to find the potential "one". Other sites like OkCupid seem to do a good job at offering a good dating service with it being free. The one think I like about OkCupid is that it does ask a lot of questions in order to compare your answers to others. I wonder if the woman on there are actually woman and not catholic priest trying to get into man's pants...we shall see.

In the end, I think it's a great idea for people to come together online and share relationship thoughts. I wonder how much revenue that company makes while trying to provide a good service.

Any thoughts?

Could you...

...cut off your own hand if it was stuck between a rock and a wall? You have NO possible way to get it out and resources are very limited. The only option, remove the arm to escape, could you do it?

The movie: 127 Hours

The Next Big Thing

What is the next big thing for the internet? Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Flickr, all brought something new to the table that made the internet what it is today, without those websites a lot of people would not spend countless hours at the computer visiting those sites.

The next big thing has to be something that no one else has seen. Text, Video and Picture based sites have been done over and over and tend to be the same thing just with a different twist. If only there was another element that the user could interact with, thus creating a "new" thing that people would go crazy over.

Although it seems that people like to create things while visiting websites. For instance, YouTube allows the user to be the director and creator of a video/movie, Facebook allows the user to connect and interact with friends/family from around the world, and Twitter allows for people to share simple thoughts that they have with a simple interface. All these sites make the user be in control and create things while they are on the site.

If anyone has a thought or an idea for a website, please post a comment. You never know, it could just be the next big thing.

Drop The Beat

The setup:

Technics SL-B20 Turntable
Pioneer SX-1250 Stereo Amp
RCA Speakers x2

Sounds bad ass and its old school. Now to start getting all the records to play! I'm sure that will be a lot of money spent, but it's always good to have a hobby. Some records only cost like $3 to $20, so it't not that different from buying a shit load of cds back in the day. Having a Dimple card ftw.

Facebook Bank

Facebook is projected to reach the $1Billion Dollar mark this year in pure profit. While having 500 million user visit it daily to poke around, companies are willing to pay big bucks to have there ads pop up on your computer. If only my blog had that many visitors...

Article about Facebook

Government Health Intervention

If the United States Government offered a very nice incentive to get the population to stop smoking and lose weight, would you be for it? I guess the incentive would have to be money or some type of tax cut. And the people that would get against it, would be the people that don't want the government spending anymore money. But if health risks and diseases were at an all time low and maybe even "gone" because of the incentive, the government would save billions, in the long run, on the health care treatment for those diseases which come from smoking and being over weight. So, if America had the option to have a system setup for this, it would have my vote.

The best way to get someone to do something that they most likely don't want to do, is to give them a reward. Treat humans like a dog and they will be loyal followers.

Out In The Night

Driving around town with Tiffany and Alex. The zombies are among us, and they're ready to feed. Must buy guns, lots....of guns. Glocks will do just fine.

Last Day With Alex

Known Alex for a long ass time now and have had some good times together. We've spent countless hours of our lives wasted playing stupid video games, going to movies, and seeing some sic ass metal concerts, and come March he will be in boot camp for the Navy. I'm sure it will be a great life experience for him and eventually land him a really amazing job, but for the next coming years, he will be missed. At least he will be serving the United States of America while away, instead of flipping burgers at McDs. Hope you have fun bro! *insert BF2 music*

Family Guy

Probably one of the greatest TV shows EVER!

Retail

If anyone has the chance to work at a retail store for a job, I advise otherwise. Unless if you like working with customers that talk down to you and think your mentally handicap. If you also enjoy having a system that promotes individuals to be extremely lazy and increase your work load, then retail is the right choice for you!

Although, in the long run, I think at some point in someones life they should work retail, just to see how much of the United States population lacks the mental capacity for common knowledge.

That is all.

Taxes

TurboTax has posted an article which listed out some of the strangest things to be taxed. Some of them make sense but then some of them are just stupid and don't make sense.

Although the one item of entity that should be taxed out the ass are the churches. For all the people that buy their way into "heaven" and donate while they are out worshiping whatever god they may believe in, the churches pay not a single penny meanwhile the rich and middle class after much hard work pay income tax. Taxes are needed to help support government programs, people in need, etc and for the churches, which generate billions of dollars, not to pay a penny to help out, is completely ridiculous. If anything church organizations should pay more then the hard working Americans.

If only I could create a "business" that is a "religious organization" and have a mass following give me their money so I could spend it on video games and cat food.... If only....

Well, don't forget to pay your taxes!

I Need An Amplifier

After missing the turntable generation, I think it's time to explore the musical roots. I have two nice speakers, a nice JVC turntable and everything to get the setup going EXCEPT for the Amp. The one thing holding me back is the thing that actually pulls the sound from the turntable and throws it out the speakers. I think the coolest thing about records as oppose to CDs is the nice big art work that comes with the record. Since they are like three times the size, you are able to get a nice big picture with all the lyrics printed on the packaging. Should be fun to start collecting some old school records and representing vinyl.

Brutal Death Metal!

Was over at Dimple Records today, and found some used CDs in the Metal section. I have decided to start building up a legit collection of Death Metal which I will rip to .flac files. Hopefully over the years I'll build up a large collection of not only Death Metal but I will also have a digital collection in a really nice sound quality. If anyone has CDs laying around of their favorite music, post a comment below and I'll help you upload it to your computer in the .flac format. I will also put the program I use to get the .flac files in the Program section to the right of the blog.

Toy Story 3

Good times as a kid watching the Toy Story movies. Now, at 21, I'm watching Toy Story 3 with Tiffany and Alex. Legit.

New Phone

Just got the Samsung Epic. Extemely fast and nice, hands down better then the HTC Hero. I think this will be a good choice for the next two years. Going from a on screen keyboard to full QWERTY is win. A great website that has really good honest reviews is CNET, check out the epic on CNET and see for yourself.

Tosh.0

Probably one of the greatest comedians ever! After watching his very first show with the one gallon challenge and all the bloody vomit, I was instantly addicted. Now with season 3 starting, EVERYONE needs to watch Tosh.0. If you don't laugh at his racist, horrific and disturbing comedy...something is wrong with you.

Helpful Programs

Within the blog I shall start compiling a list of very helpful computer maintenance programs. If people actually maintained their PCs by removing crap files and log files, the stress levels over computer issues would decrease drastically. The most important of the programs I have listed to the right is probably CCleaner, it scans for all the junk files that are hidden within the computer and then removes them. The first time I ran CCleaner it removed 6GB of useless crap files. Post comments below with the results of how much is removed!

Splice

If humans were able to splice genes with other animals or other organisms in order to better humanity, there should be NO laws that limit research. In fact, if any one person or group of people tried to act against it, should be punished. Many religious groups around the world find that it should be illegal to even fathom the idea of embryonic testing, and to them I say, I hope when your loved one is dieing of some disease that probably could have been prevented or at least treated, think about how your closed minded ideology is flawed and should be destroyed.

Extended Warranties

Everyone is always unsure whether or not to buy the "extended warranties" that companies offer for electronic devices. Over the past many years, extended warranties use to be insanely expansive and covered almost nothing. For example, a laptop 7 years ago was over $1200 and the warranty was probably at least $400 and covered hardware failure only. They also have "accidental damage" warranties that cover any damage that the user does to the device, such as dropping and cracking the screen, liquid spill damage, etc. The "accidental damage" warranties cost about 3/4 the price of the unit. As 2011 is now present, warranties have changed dramatically, not only are laptops dirt cheap, warranties not only cost way less but cover way more. For example a really decent laptop such as this Toshiba Satelite L675D-S7016 is only $499 after mail-in savings and the Accidental Damage Protection Plan is only $119, which covers ANY damage done by user, 24/7 Tech Support and a 1 time battery replacement. To me, the battery replacement for the laptop is worth it, due to the fact that a battery WILL loose its full charge ability by the two year mark and they cost right about $150 from the manufacture.

In the end, people that say "Extended warranties aren't worth it and its a waste of money", well in the past I would have agreed, but now I would call you ill-informed and that you need to invest long-term for the product you buy. Overall if people were to realize the key benefits and differences of extended warranties, the over all customer satisfaction would greatly increase. So, be smart and protect your investment!

If anyone needs some assistance with a computer issue, let me know. Under "Programs", I've listed out some really good useful programs that can solve a lot of computer issues. Samsung Epic

The HTC Hero was a great phone but having a full qwerty keyboard is way too legit. The screen on the Samsung Epic is way to amazing as well. Come monday, I think I'll be picking one up. For only $250 minus some trade in from old phones, right around the $150 mark is win.

The One Idea...

For every entrepreneur, it only takes that one idea for them to get attach to and become obsessed about. But it is that one idea that can lead to the next great thing. For a young Harvard student by the name of Mark Zuckberg it was a website that allowed for students to connect with other students and share the college lifestyle with, thus Facebook was born and  now he is the youngest billionaire to walk the earth... I believe that the more ideas one is able to think about and actuality put some deep thought into, becoming the next billionaire is completely possible by the age of 30. Hopefully this one idea will come to me soon... In the mean time, I shall be a corporate slave to the world of retail.
