Government Health Intervention

If the United States Government offered a very nice incentive to get the population to stop smoking and lose weight, would you be for it? I guess the incentive would have to be money or some type of tax cut. And the people that would get against it, would be the people that don't want the government spending anymore money. But if health risks and diseases were at an all time low and maybe even "gone" because of the incentive, the government would save billions, in the long run, on the health care treatment for those diseases which come from smoking and being over weight. So, if America had the option to have a system setup for this, it would have my vote.

The best way to get someone to do something that they most likely don't want to do, is to give them a reward. Treat humans like a dog and they will be loyal followers.

  1. LOL, typical Democratic mantra "Treat humans like a dog and they will be loyal followers." Seriously dude, how can you buy into this garbage. This is what has ruined California and what is destroying the nation. You guys want the government to keep giving handouts to the "poor" and "needy". This way you can keep these people in a hole, keep them down and make them depended. It is like a junky and addict relationship with the Democratic Party being the Junky and the poor and minorities being addicted to the welfare and handouts. This is why these people vote Dem, because the Dems never met a handout they didnt like. They dont care who pays for it, hell, we can tax the american business owner some more or just borrow the money from the Chinese...that ought to work out well for us.

To your other point...I find it hypocritical that you dont want to prove your American citizenship with a national ID in order to stifle the illegals claim to our tax money but you support the government's intervention in healthcare???!!! What is next? Can the government tell you when to go to bed and wake up, what to eat and mandate you go to the gym because it will make us all "more healthy"??? More government intervention is not the solution Jordan...the solution is to make the fatties and smokers responsible for paying for their own decisions...in other words, they need to pay for their own healthcare or deal with the results and repercussions of their years of abusing their bodies.

I think you need to come visit again...your mind is getting mushy and you need me to sharpen you up a bit :)
